There will be a yellow zone parking ban in Portland starting this evening at 10:00 pm, Thursday, November 27 and ending at 6:00 am on Friday, November 28th.  During this ban all vehicles left on city streets in the downtown area will be towed at the owner’s expense.

The yellow zone parking zone is bounded by: Commercial Street on the south, Cumberland Avenue on the north, Franklin Street on the east and State Street on the west.  The parking ban is in effect within the square area within these streets.

The city offers numerous free options for parking on the peninsula during a snow ban.  They include but are not limited to: Cutter Streets lots (off the Eastern Promenade), Eastern Promenade – Turner Street to East End Community School (at the light pole # 33 on the waterside).

There are also public garages open during this ban – one is Ocean Gateway Garage at 167 Fore Street.
