Maggie McLoughlin has been nominated to serve as Director of the Health & Human Services Department and Kevin Kraft has been nominated to serve as Director of the Planning & Urban Development Department by the city manager Danelle West it wa announced this morning. Both nominations need to be confirmed by the city council on July 15, 2024.
Moar recently Maggie served as Mercy Corps’ Director of Programs in Nigeria, where she supported governments’ delivery of services to diverse populations, oversaw a $140 million grant portfolio and led a team of 240+ to implement high-impact programs across 16 states in Nigeria. Sheh olds a MPH degree from George Washington University and a BA from Washington Uuiversity. Her first day on the job pending confirmation from the city council will be August 19, 2024 at a starting salary of $150,282.
Kevin Kraft has worked in the public sector in urban planning with emphasis on long-range planning and much more – for over a decade. Since 2020, Kevin has worked for the city of Portland as Deputy Director of the Planning & Urban Development Department. During this time, Kevin helped lead a 17-member team and was instrumetal in the approval of over 2,800 new residential units, many major development projects. a new Institutional Overlay Zone for the Roux Institute and adoption of the ReCode Phase 1. Since April, Kevin has served as the department’s Interim Director following the recent departure of Christine Grimando for another position.
Kevin holds a MS degree in Planning from the Pratt Institute and a BA in Urban Studies from Rutgers Unversity. Following the city coucil upcoming confirmation, his first day as director will be July 16, 2024 at a starting salary of $177,151.
