Tugboat Muster Took Place in Casco Bay Yesterday – Ft. Gorges is in the Background.

Tugboats Engaged in a One-on-One Race Yesterday for the MS Fundraiser.

The 37th annual MS Harborfest occured over the weekend in Casco Bay.  The fundraiser was begun by Merle Hallett of Handy Boat Yard 37 years ago.

It’s a three day festival of water front events and an auction that is a fundraiser for MS.  Over the past 36th years, over $3 million has been raised.

One of the best places from which to watch some of the races is Ft. Allen Park on Munjoy Hill.  The Ft. was named for an Englishman who never stepped foot in America, but tried hard, unsuccessfully, to development the local waterfront.
