Trumpy’s Doctor at Walter Reed Issues Clarifying Statement on Timeline Discrepancy

Dr. Sean Connolly, Doctor to the President, at Today’s Press Conference at Walter Reed Hospital.

Dr. Sean Conley released a clarifying statement this afternoon about an erroneous statement he made at a press conference earlier today.  In an earlier press conference, Dr. Conley stated that Trumpy was 72 hours into his diagnosis for COVID-19.  The clarifying statement was issued two hours following the initial press conference.

If the 72 hour timeline were correct, that would have meant that Trumpy had known since Wednesday of his diagnosis rather than Thursday late evening or early Friday morning.  Dr. Conley’s clarification said that Trumpy’s test was on Thursday.

The discrepancy in the timeline information presented at the press conference this afternoon caused all manner of speculation by the press as to why and how this could have happened and the implications for this timeline. Also, critics remained dissatisfied with the lack of specific details about the condition of the president during the initial press conference this afternoon.  Lacking were details about his vital signs;  temperature, any use of oxygen since his admission to Walter Reed, any lung damage among other issues.  One critic called it a “happy talk” conference – designed to positively affect his upcoming re-election bid next month and maintain his image of a strong person rather than a weak person.  Strong people don’t wear face masks.
