Although it was announced earlier in the evening that Trump had been indicted by the Fulton County grand jury, the indictment was finally unsealed at close to 11:00 pm this evening.  The unsealing  revealed there are 18 defendants in addition to Trump’s indictment – for a total of 19 defendants.  It’s a 41 felony count indictment under the RICO statute – 13 of those counts are against Trump alone.

The unsealing revealed that Rudy Giuiliani, John Eastman, Mark Meadows, Ken Cheseboro, Jena Ellis, Jeff Clark, and Sidney Powell were among those indicted in this 98 page document. Interestigly, most of those above defendants are also attorneys – who  knew their efforts to overturn the 2020 election was illegal.  If Trump were to be elected president next year, these state charges cannot be pardoned by him.  That is why it is expected that some of the defendants may try to shift this indictment to federal courts – where it can be dismissed by a Republican president – should that happen.

At a press conference held just before midnight by Fulton County DA Fani Willis she said she wants a trial within six months and that all 19 defendants will be tried at the same time.

DA Willis said that conviction of the RICCO charge does require that part of the sentence at least be served in jail.  This is contrary to what some tv pundits have previously stated.  This indictment was considered to be a very aggressive one and a broad use of the RICCO statute.  It’s broadness allows the “entire story to be told” according to experts on the subject.  This marks the fourth indictment for Donald Trump in just over four months.

AG Willis has given all 19 defendants until noon August 25 to surrender to the Fulton County Jail that is open 24/7 for finger printig, mug shots, etc.
