Retire Susan Collinsge!  It’s Time for Her to Go!

Democratic nominee for US Senate Troy Jackson has accepted FOUR TELEVISED debates against Susan Collins this October, even as Collins refused requests to make two of them town hall-style debates and continues to duck opportunities to take unscripted questions directly from Mainers.

Jackson has accepted the following four debate invitations:

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6, AT 7:00 PM hosted by WGME;

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8: 8:00 pm hosted by WMTW;

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13, at 7:00 pm., hosted by WABI/WAGM;

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15, at 8:00 pm., hosted by NEWS CENTER MAINE, Portland Press Herald and Maine Public with a live audience and questions from Maine voters at Gracie Theatre in Bangor.

Jackson has repeatedly called for Mainers to  have the opportunity to question both candidates directly.  Collins has refused those requests and ignored two invitations this week alone to join Jackson at public town halls, with another opportunity tomorrow.

Collins has not held a public town hall in 25 years, avoiding public town halls.  So, i’m glad she’ll at least have to stand on a stage with me four times this October and answer for her record,” said Jackson.  “But Mainers deserve the chance to look both of us in the eye and ask us questions directly.  I’ll show up anywhere, anytime to answer questions from the people of Maine, Senator Collins is welcome to do the same.”

Since becoming the Democratic nominee, Jackson has traveled across Maine meeting directly with voters at community events, union gatherings, campaign stops and public town halls.  This week alone, Jackson is holding THREE TOWN HALLS where Mainers can ask him questions on an issue – something Colllins has refused to do throughout her Senate career.

While Collins continues to hide from unscripted questions from her constituents, Jackson will keep showing up, answering questions and making the case directly to Mainers for a government that works for working people rather than billionaires and special interests.
