On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 12:58 am., the Lewiston Police Department received 911 calls of a disturbance and shots outside of the Blue Goose Tavern at 69 Sabatus Street in Lewiston.

Officers arrived and located an adult male and an adult female suffering from gunshot wounds.  Both  victims were transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston where the male was pronounced deceased.  The female was treated for her injuries and later relealsed.

The adut male has been identified as Travis Hunter, 37, of Lewiston.  An autopsy conducted at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta determined the cause of death to be gunshit wound to the chest and the manner of death to be a homicide.
