On Thursday, January 12, 2023 just after 6:00 pm., Police were called to the vicinity of Bruno’s Restaurant on Allen Avenue, where a vehicle drove into the path of an Amtrak train.

The vehicle was exiting Bruno’s parking lot and made a left turn onto Allen Avenue.  The driver by passed the flashing lights and crossing gates, before being struck on the passenger side by the on coming train.  The collision pushed the vehicle into Bruno’s parking lot, where it caused damage to three other parked vehicles.

The accident is still under investigation and the driver has not been cited at this time.  He was examined by paramedics on the scene and then self-transported to the hospital where he is being treated.
