457 Cumberland Avenue, Former Home of Deceased Man Fred Akoa..

Three local men were arrested this afternoon in connection with the murder of 49-year-old Fred Akoa, a black man who had lived at 457 Cumberland Avenue for less than a year.   Mr. Akoa’s body was discovered Tuesday, August 11, at apartment # 18,  at 457 Cumberland Avenue; a;k/a Cumberland Place.

Twenty-three year old Abil Teshone, DOB, 11/5/91; 36-year-old Mohamed Modmod, DOB 8/24/78; and 31-year-old Osman Shekh, DOB l/l/84.  Each has been charged with murder. All three were in custody at the Cumberland County Jail on unrelated charges. They are all from Portland, but currently have no fixed address.

They are being held without bail pending arraignment in court.  An arraignment date has not been set, but is expected either Friday or Monday.

Arrest photos are not being released because the investigation is ongoing, according to a press release from the Portland Police Department.
