On Friday, October 17, 2025, at approximately 9:00 pm., a Trooper initiated a traffic stop on Skyway Drive in Portland for a defective taillight. The driver and registered owner of the vehicle was identified as Abdullah Ahmed Mohamud, 29, of South Portland.
During the course of the investigation, Troopers determined that Mohamud was currently on bail condiions prohibiting him from using or possessing dangerous weapons and restricting him from being out between the hours of 8:00 pm and 6:00 am. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of two stolen handguns. He was placed under arrest and charged with Violation of Condiions of Release and Receiving Stolen Property. He was transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
