“In America, the Law is King”. This Sign Was Seen at the October 18, 2025 NO KINGS Rally in Deering Oaks Park, in Portland.

One of Numerous Signs at a NO KINGS DAY Rally Calling Out Collins for Doing Nothing to Stand up to Trumpism.
Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-ME) is demanding that President Trump immediately stop his appalling demolition of the White House’s East Wing, warning that his unapproved “ballroom project'” tramples historic preservation and defies legally-required federal oversight and interagency coordination.
As the top Democrat on the Appropriations Subcommitte overseeing the National Park Service, Pingree condemned the President’s brazen destruction of the White House, a National Historic Landmark and a National Park Site.
“Your actions ae irreparably destrpying a historic portion of one of America’s most recognizable landmarks and a symbol of our democrcy,” Pingree said. “Your disregard for the oversight and transparency requirements that protect our nation’s most revered sites is shocking. Despite previous assurances that no changes would be made to the existing structure, the project’s scope is clearly well beyond what was initially publicly proposed,” she continued. “And according to reports, the White House has not yet even submitted plans for the project to initiate the review process.”
“President Trump acknowledged on Wednesday that he was having the entire East Wing demolished to make way for his 90,000-square foot ballroom, a striking expansion of a project that is remaking the profile of one of the nation’s most irconic buildings,” according to a report on the front page of “The New York Times” Thursday, October 23, 2025. “The President also said on Wednesday that the ballroom would cost $300 million, $100 million more than initially estimated.” It was reported this evening that the “Let Them Eat Cake” President Trump said that the cost of his ballroom has escalated up to $350 million.
“Where is Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) on this? Does she approve of the demolition of the East Wing of the White House?” wonders this blogger. “She’s too frightened too speak up to the tyrant in the White House.”
