One week after voting to confirm anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ judge Kathleen “Kate” Lane to the US District Court for the District of Montana, Senator Susan Collins voted to confirm two more Trump nominated anti-reproductive rights judges – this time to the US District Court for the District of Kansas according to a press release received this mornng from Planned Parenthood.
On Tuesday, she voted to confirm Anthony “Tony” Mattvi and on Wednesday she voted to confirm Anthony Powell, both of whom have publicly opposed abortion rights.
While Mainers and all Americans believe abortion should be legal, Senator Collins continues to vote to confirm judges to lifetime appointments who have worked to restrict legal access to this medical procedure. She doesn’t care that the anti-abortion agenda is wildlly unpopular. She prefers to side with President Trump, whose judicial nominees she has confirmed 94% of the time during his second term alone.
We can never forget this is the same senator who oted to confirm Supreme Court Justice Brett Kaanaugh, who in turn voted to overturn Roe v. Wade, stripping Americans of our constitutional right to abortion.

During President Trump’s second term alone, Senator Collins has voted to approve his judicial appointments 94% of the time.
