Second Annual Cider Press Party on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Mt. Joy Orchard.

Jeff Taring, Recently Retired City Arborist, Back When he Established the Mount Joy Orchard, on Munjoy Hill.   Sixty Students From the East End Community School Across the Street Joined the Opening Celebration.  For More Background Information on the Event, Please Visit Post Herein Dated:  May 21, 2014.

On Saturday, October 14, 2023, volunteers from the nine year old Mt. Joy Orchard will host its second annual Community Cider Press Party from 1:00  pm – 4:00 pm. at the Orchard on the east end of Portland..

Volunteers will gather at the Orchard to press cider using applies from the Orchard as well as fruit gathered from feral trees and backyard orchards.

If you are able, please bring a clean jar (with lid) to bring home some cider as well as any apples  you can collect to process into cider.  Apples don’t need to be in great shape, but shouldnd’t be rotten or heavily damaged.

The rain date is  Sunday, October 15, 2023.
