A convention of the finest kind will be converging in Portland once again on Saturday afternoon, December 3rd. That’s when the annual convention of Santa wannabe’s swarm the city’s pubs looking for fun and good cheer.
It’s part of a national effort that encourages pub crawlers to dress up as Santa – don’t just wear a Santa cap – and have good fun while obeying all of the Santa’s rules of civility! Be kind to children, little old ladies – you know the drill.
The route for this year’s fun starts at Pat’s Pizza from 4:00 – 5:30 pm. A group photo will be taken at 5:45 at Monument Square beside the Christmas Tree; From 6 – 7:15 pm the group will assemble at Port City Music Hall. At 7:30 – 9:00 pm at Oasis. Between 9;00 – 10:00 pm at Gritty’s Bull Feeney and Thirsty Pig. From 10:00 – 11:20 at Grace and finally 1:30 – 1:00 am at Brian Boru’s and 51 Wharf. If you survive all that, congratulations!
Just remember that when you hear “Santas On The Move,” It’s time to “Drink up and Move on to the Next Stop” – according to instructions on the Santacom web page.
