You are invited to attend the grand opening of the Equality Community Center on Friday, December 2nd, first floor, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.  The location is 511 Congress Street, Portland.  The Center is the home to six organizations that provide services and advocate for Maine’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

There will be an opportunity to tour the Center, meet the organizations belonging to the Center, grab a bite to eat and get your picture taken in the equality photo booth.

The Maine Gay Mens’ Chorus will perform in the Lobby of the building.  A reception will be held in the 7,000 sq. ft. space formerly occupied by the  Maine International Trade Center.  There will be opportunities to buy from LGBT artists and crafts persons in that space.  There will be a visual show that will be shown on a screen placed in the plaza itself as well as against the glass windows of the former MITC.   The show will  be projected from the tops of several nearby buildings.
