Portland’s Eastern Promenade Fourth of July Details Outlined

The city of Portland is once again hosting a fireworks display for the Fourth of July this year.  The display will be held on Thursday, July 4th in the usual spot on the Eastern Promenade with the fireworks set to go off around 9:15 pm.  A rain date is scheduled for Friday, July 5th.  Food trucks will be available on the Eastern Promenade roadway.

Fireworks will be launched from the East End Trail.  The Trail will need to be closed from Cutter Street to the Water Treatmet Plant from 6:00 am until deemed safe by city staff – that could be at approximately 11:00 pm.  In the event of rain, these Trail changes would be in effect until Friday, July 5th.

The Casco Bay Wind Symphony has voluntered to perform this year, starting at 7:00 pm until the beginnig of the fireworks show.  The program will include a mix of patriotic music, popular tunes and a sprinklig of symphonic pieces.
