Portland School Board Approves $161.4 M Budget to Send to City Council


At its meeting on Tuesday, April 9, the Portland Board of Public Education voted to approve a $161.4 million school budget for fiscal year 2025 to send to the Portland City Council.  The Board will present its recommended FY 25 budget to the Council on Monday, April 22nd.

School Superintendent Ryan Scallio said:  “TDo address the significant fiscala challenges in FY 25, this budget entails some really difficult trade-offs.  However, the end result is a fair proposal that acenters students, supports taff, provides additional resources to schools and is alilged to our emerging strategies, while being cognizant of Portland taxpayers.”
