Portland Police executed a search warrant this afternoon, Wednesday, October 18, 2023, related to Monday’s Kennedy Park shooting.  A juvenile male was taken into custody and transported to Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland for a probation violation.  The operation was considered “high risk,” so the Special Reaction Team (SRT) was used and a block of traffic had to be rerouted on Cumberland Avenue according to a press release issued this evening.

Earlier this week, Portland Police reported they responded to a report of a shooting in Kennedy Park at 4:05 pm on Monday, October 16, 2023 ,  Witnesses stated that a silver SUV occupied by two black males drove into the area and fired a gun at another male, who was in his car.  The suspects quickly fled the area towards Cumberland Avenue.  Witnesses state the driver was wearing a black t-shirt, while the passenger was weariang a rd hoodie.
