The former East Bayside Office at 81 Oxford Street has been renamed the East End Communty Policing Office.  This office will now provide coverage for the East Bayside as well as the Munjoy Hill neighborhoods.

The expansion reflects the department’s ongoing commitent to building trust, improving accessibility and fostering collaboration with the communities we serve.  By increasing the number of Community Policing Offices, the department will be able to provide more direct support, improve response to neighborhood concerns and enhance visibility in key areas throughout Portland.

At the new Midtown office Jennifer Rogers, wlll serve as the Communty Policing Coordinator:  jrogers@portlandmaine.gov  The phone number is:  207 – 823-1795 and Officer Knight is the Community Policing Officer.

This blogger stopped by the 443 Congress Street location twice earlier this week  – on Monday and Wednesday – with the purpose of taking photos of the new policing center.  However, no one was there and it did not appear that any semblance of a community policing center was up and running at that location..
