On Thursday, May 29,  2025, at 7:02 pm. the Portland Police Department’s Crime Reduction Unit was working the area of Portland Street and Forest Avenue when they observed a male remove what appeared to be a small baggie of drugs from his pants.  Officers attempted to question the indiivdual before he fled.  After a foot chase, the suspect was taken ino custody just after he threw the previously mentioned plastic baggie to the ground.

Two officers received minor injuries during the chase and apprehension.  One officer was treated at Mercy Hospital and released. He has returned to work.

Jaulil Willilams, 36, was arrested and transported to Cumberland County Jail.  He was in possesssion of 17.1 grams of cocaine base, 11.5 grams of crack cocaine, 6 Oxycodene pills and $2,900. in cash.
