Do you have an item or two that need repairing or fixing? If so, you may find the assistance you need at an upcoming Repair Meeting at Congress Square Park in downtown Porland. The first of a summer series starts on Sunday, June 8th from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the popular downtown Portland park.
Repair Meetups are free community evens where people come together to help each other fix everything from small home appliances to damaged clothes according to Park officials. These meetings are about celebrating under-appreciated skills and learning new ones, holding on to things that take a lot of resources to make but can quickly end up in landfills and connectng with other humans. Experts, novices and curious spectators are welcome to attend.
Two other Meetups have been scheduled for later this summer. There is one scheduled for Sunday, July 6 and the third is set for Sunday, August 10th. All run from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
