A new pocket park in Bayside is near completion said Jamie Parker, Active Transportation Manager, for Portland Trails late last week. He was working with another Munjoy Hill resident Connor Monsello, a seasonal trail steward who is in college the rest of the year.
The new park is located at Gould Street and Washington Avenue. “This will help to get
people out, moving around and active. We hope it will connect neighbors in the area to each other. It will be easier for walkers and bikers to come up from Bayside to Washington Avenue,” said Parker.
The new park will have seating and landscaping and possibly a piece of public art. It will all help with storm water runoff as well Parker said. It’s expected to be completed later this week.
Funding comes from a grant from Jane’s Trust.
