Those interested in waterfront matters may be interested to know that Jeff Liicke, former Harbor Master of Portland, resigned a few weeks ago to “move on”  in his career.  Serving as Acting Harbor Master is Kevin J. Battle, who has served as Liicke’s deputy over the past few  years.  The Portland office is at 2 Portland Fish Pier. on the waterfront.   (207) 772-8121.

On another significant change., Josh Christie, former manager of Sherman’s Books on Exchange Street in the Old Port resigned from his post recently.  That move came as a surprise to his colleagues but may have been precipitated by the recent unexpected death of his father earlier this spring.  Josh has written several popular books on beer and is a columnist on the outdoors locally. as was his father.  His father was a renowned skier and is in a Hall of Fame for it.  Apparently, Josh wanted to explore other career opportunities at this time in his life.  He’d been with the Sherman’s chain for about ten years.  Chelsea Cook, is currently serving as Interim General Manager.

Another change of a different sort was the beautiful wedding of Brian Carroll and Jamie Sullivan on the Eastern Promenade late this afternoon.
