Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-ME) joined 56 members of Congress in urging US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to reiterate the urgent need for a humanitarian pause and for Israel to conduct military operations within the scope of international law because of the critical need to protect innocent lives, regional stability and American national securty interests during his meetings with Israeli offiials in his visit to the region.

The letter to Secretary of State Blinken dated November 3, 2023 and led by Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (D-TX) and Senator Martin Heinrich (D-NM), comes amid a worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
