For the past two months, Maine Drug Enforcement Agents and Officers of the Berwick Pollce Department conducted an investigation into illegal drug trafficking from a single-famly residence at 19 Katabel Lane, Berwick.

This investigation began after numerous complaints and safety concerns were received from community members of suspected drug trafficking and disturbances taking place in the residence.

Berwick Police have responded to the residence more than a dozen times since January 2023 for numerous disturbances and related complaints to include it being the scene of a suspected homicide that occurred in January 2023.

At approximately 6:30 am this morning, the Maine State Police Tactical Team assisted the agencies by making the initial entry and securing the residence to make it safe for agents to conduct a search.  Upon arrival officers observed several items being thrown from a window of the residence, later to be identified as pre-packaged Fentanyl for resale.  Eighteen (18) people were located and detained without incident from within the residence.
