Michael Laliberte was named President of the University of Maine at Augusta, effective Augut 1st by Chancellor Daniel Malloy today.  Lalibete, whi is currently President of the State University of New York at Delta has signed a three year contract.

Raised in Rhode Island, Laliberte earned his doctoral degree in educational leadership in higher education from Johnson & Wales University.  He was joined in the announcement byh his husband, Tom Pauken.

Chancellor Malloy is expected to name a new President for the USM and an INterim President for the UNiversity of Maine at Farmington before June 30 according to a press release issued today.
