Maine Medical Center Launches Peer Reviewed Journal; First Issue Set for Next Summer

Maine Medical Center, Medical Education Department, is launching the state’s only peer-reviewed medical journal dedicated to original research in the health services is seeking submission from all professionals working in a clinical healthcare and or medical educational setting.

Launching this new publication supports Maine Medical Center’s academic mission by presenting original scholarly work, timely and emerging information and other important clinical knowledge that will benefit health care providers, their patients and the community, according to a press release issued by Matt Wickenheiser.

“One of our primary goals in launching the “Journal of Maine Medical Center” is to help develop early career health care colleagues as published researchers, an important aspect of growth,” said Bob Bing-You, M.D., Maine Medical Center’s Vice President of Medical Education. “The professional development,  identity formation and continuing education that are all part of becoming a published researcher will also elevate clinical engagement throughout the region.  The creation of this new platform for research will also heighton the focus on inter-professional education and patient care.”

The first issue of the open access, web-based “Journal of Maine Medical Center, is set to be published in July 2019; all article submissions for this first issue will need to be provided by January 1, 2019.
