On Saturday, January 24, 2026, at approimately 8:57 am., the Fairfield Police Department received a 91 call about a male found on the side of the road and not breathing on the Martin Stream Road in Fairfield.

Police responded and contacted the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit Central when it was determined that the male was deceased.

The deceased male was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta where an autopsy will be conducted in the coming days.  Detectives have identified the deceased as Jason Grant, 46, of Oakland.  Anyone in the area of the Martin Stream Road in Fairfield and/or Norridgewock Friday night or early Satuday morning who may have information that could assist investigtors is requested to contact the Maine State Police at 207 – 624-7076.
