Nicole Clegg was named CEO and President of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE) according to a press release issued yesterday.  She had been serving as Interim CEO since March of 2023.

Clegg has worked to expand the scope of the organization’s Public Affairs department and helped pass a dozen pieces of proactive  legislation, several of which dramatically improved access to abortion and family planning.  Clegg also led the development of a scientifically proven abortion persuasion campaign; Bridging the Gap.  Over the years, her role expanded to include strategic guidance and to provide leadership roles during staffing transactions.

Clegg has served as the VP of Public Affairs for the Famoly Planning Association of Maine, as the spokesperson for the Maine Public Utilities Commission and as the Director of Communications for the City of Pprtland.  She is married to a member of Congresswoman Chellie Pingree;s Portland staff.

She obtained her BA in Economics and Government from Smith College.
