This proposed Comprehensive Plan may be of particular interest to those concerned about the development of the Western Waterfront into an area that supports the needs of Maine and Northern New England businesses. Quoting from the Plan: “Facilitate the development of the Western Waterfront as a 21st century logistics hub that will serve the freight and cargo needs of Maine and Northern New England businesses.” It will be a “truck hub” according to Jo Coyne, a west end resident, opposed to the Economic Development Office’s request to increase the height of the Americold cold storage warehouse to support EIMSKIP.
