Line of Duty Death Funeral Information for Assistant Chief Wayne Woodbury is that his funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Belfast Area High School, 25 Lions Way, Belfast.
Fire Service personnel are asked to park at the Troy A. Howard Middle School, 173 Lincolnville Avenue, Beltast and to utilize the provided shuttle. Attendees can utilize parking on and surrounding Belfast Area High School grounds. Overflow parking will be at the Troy A. Howard Middle School with shuttles available.
Personnel have been secured for Honor Guard and Pipes & Drums. A sea of blue will be made of all fire service personnel attendees. Please do not bring outside fire apparatus to the service.
Assistant Fire Chief Wayne Woodbury, 76, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Maine Medical Center, Portland. He was among the many firefighters and emergency responders who responded to the May 15,2026 fire at Robbins Lumber in Searsmont. He was one of 12 injured in the fire and explosion last month. His death was the second to occur as a result of the incident at Robbins Lumber in Searsmont.
He was born in Camden in March 8,1950. and was the son of Lloyd and Roberta Woodbury. Assistant Chief Woodbury entered the BIW apprentice program upon graduating from Belfast High School in 1968. He married “the love of his life” Rosie the same year. She predeceased him.
