Are you looking for a feel good adrenaline rush after Christmas?
If you are, listen up!
Be bold and participate in the annual plunge and/or run on Portland’s East End Beach on Wednesday, December 31st. It’s purpose is to support the National Resources Council of Maine’s work to reduce climate changing pollution.
As in the past, the 5K begins at 11:00 am and the dip will be at noon – the “warmest” part of the day – at East End Beach on Munjoy Hill. A shuttle will return participants to their cars at Back Cove after the plunge.
To participate in the event, pre-register online at nrcm.kintera.org/dipdash. Registration opens at 9:30 am Wednesday, December 31st at the Back Cove parking area (across from Hannaford Shopping Center.)
Despite the cold air, the festive nature of the event is always fun and if you haven’t done it previously, please check it out. You may be glad you did. If you are an “old-timer,” see you there!
The National Resources Council of Maine (NRCM) is located at 3 Wade Street, Augusta, Maine 04330 Please see www.NRCM.org and this non-profit is a membership organization.
