218 Washington Avenue Building to be Torn Down to Make Way for Large Condo Project.

A More Distant View of the Proposed Condo

A proposed 45 unit condominium building with 22 one-bedroom and 23 two- bedroom units, located at 218 Washington Avenue, is on the agenda of the City’s Planning Board for Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 4:30 at city hall, city council chambers for its site plan review.

The building currently located on the property will be torn down and the condo will replace it.  The architect is Bill Hopkins, of Archetype Architects, Portland.  The height of the building is not described in the application nor the number of floors and whether or not there will be retail space available on the first floor – common occurrences in similar condominiums.

Developer Ron Gan is the closest neighbor – to the left in this left photo of the current building.

For more information, please go to the 4th floor, planning division, of city hall.  You may contact Jean Fraser, planner, planning division at (20) 874-8728 or at:  jf@portlandmaine.gov for more information.
