A Yellow Zone Parking Ban has been declared beginning tonight. Friday, December 18 through Saturday December 19th.  The ban begins tonight at 10:00 pm and ends at 6:00 am tomorrow morning.

Vehicles left on city streets within the Yellow Zone after 10:00 pm can be towed at the owner’s expense to the Ocean Gateway Parking Lot. The Yellow Zone snow ban is used to allow crews to perform snow hauling following major snow storms as it is important to clear the narrow downtown streets.  The Yellow Zone includes the downtown district bordered by Cumberland Avenue, Franklin Street, Commercial Street and State Street.

This morning Exchange Street was in desperate need of more plowing because no parking could happen on the left side of the Street where snow banks were piled high.  Some store personnel were out shoveling their sidewalks and steps to facilitate entry to the store.
