CORRECTION: UMaines Men’s Hockey Paused Because Players in Quarantine

The men’s ice hockey games previously scheduled this weekend at U Massachusetts Lowell will not be played according to a press release received today.  The two teams are scheduled to meet again on January 1 and 2.

The reason for the “pause,” is that a positive case of COVID-19 has been identified in the hockey program.  Student-athletes are in quarantine as a result and team activities have been paused. It was previously reported that the coaches and support staff are in quarantine because of exposure.  A second press release from the U Maine has stated that the coaches and support staff were not exposed to the COVID-19.

The women’s ice hockey team will proceed with its plans to compete in Providence on Friday December 18th and Saturday December 19th.
