Richard McDowell (DOB 7-18-1980)  was arrested for Aggravated Assault after an altercation he was involved in left a 32 year old Portland woman with a stab wound to her hand.

Portland Police were called to the area of the Preble Street Soup Kitchen today at 12:25 pm for the report of several subjects fighting.  During the altercation the woman received a non-life threatening laceration to her hand.  the suspect was quickly identified and located hiding in a hallway at 259 Oxford Street.  He was taken into custody and has been charged with Aggravated Assault. He was taken to the Cumberland County Jail.

The victim was transported to the Maine Medical Center where she was treated and released.
