Belgrade Woman Seriously Injured During Shooting by Her Son Yesterday Expected to Survive

Yesterday this blog reported that an unidentified woman was seriouslty injured when she was shot yesterday morning at her home on Point Road in Belgrade.

This afternoon the Maine State Police spokeswoman issued an update on the situation.  Christina Bell, 58, a resident of 15 Point Road is the vctim of the shooting yesterday morning.  Initially she was transported to Maine Medical Center, Portland with serious injuries.  Ms. Bell was later transported to a Boston hospital.and she is expected to survive the shooting.   The unidentified adult male  taken into custody is her son Samuel Bell, 26.  He was found a short distance away on Guptil Road and did not live with his parents at 15 Point Road, Belgrade.

Mr. Bell was taken to Kennebec County Correctional Facility where he has been charged with Attempted Murder and Elevated Aggravated Assault according to Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer for the State of Maine.
