Which God Do You Prefer? CF Trump’s or Episcopal Bishop Budee’s?

Which God Do You Believe These Days?  It used to be so simple.  Sunday School years ago at Ridgeview Congregational Church in White Plains, New York, taught this blogger there was only one God. A good and kind God.  And to try to  live by the Golden Rule.  Sometimes God seems AWOL, though. It was so simple back then. But it’s not anymore.

At one of his rallys following his November election.  Convicted Felon Trump said that God had spared his life from the bullets of several assassination attempts so he could save the USA from……inflation and  the high cost of food, housing and other basics?  What happened to that promise?

But, did the God who spared his life so he could be president give CF permission to disobey God”s  Ten Commandments?  What about “thou shalt not steall” – or spearhead an effort  to steal elections when they have been legally won by an opponent.  What about “Thou Salt Not Bear False Witness?” LIke on the Haitians who live in Ohio and were accused of eating each others pets by JD Vance.  Or the immigrants CF and his angry tribe are deporting now.  Does God disapprove so much of diversity that he spared his political life so CF and JD could trash women like former VP Kamala Harris?  What about “Thou Shalt Not Covet  Another Man’s Wife?” CF has God on his side of the aisle, so he can do whatever he wants with God’s approval.  Do you think that God spared  CF’s life because God prefers billionaires over poor people, because God encurages discrimination over minorities and women?  Does God prefer white men over women?  Does God seek  revenge and retribution against those who oppose him?  The list is long.

But CF and JD crashed head-on into  the Golden Rule the day following CF’s inauguration.  That crash  was at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC.,  That was when  Episcopal Bishop Mariann E. Budde implored CFand JD to show “mercy” toward the gay community, the LGBTQ Plus community, and immigrants whether or not they are documented.  Many are afraid now of what’s ahead of them, Bishop Budee said from the pulpit of this great Cathedral to her audience of CF.

Offended by the Bishop’s gentle but persuasive urging to someone who may  have skipped Sunday School, CF retorted  that the Bishop insulted him and demanded an apology from her.  Does God’s employee need to apologize to God’s imposter, CF?

This blogger just prays that the One God shows lots and lots of  “mercy” tonight as the underdog Buffalo Bills play against Kansas City in  the AFC champsionship game and the right to go on to the Super Bowl for the team’s first NFL title in New Orleans.  Some New Yorkers stick together!
