Westbrook Man Arrested in Attempted Arson and Firearm Incident in Portland

On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, members of the Portland Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) arrested Ken Muco, 29, of Westbrook, in connection with an attempted arson and firearm incident that occurred on Friday, June 20, 2026.

At approximately 8:00 pm on June 20th, officers responded to New Buja Belle Restaurant and Bar after receiving reports of a disturbance involving an armed individual.  The subsequent investigation determined that Muco entered the business carrying what appeared to be a makeshift Molotov cocktail.  During the incident, he ignited the incendiary device in an apparent attempt to set the business on fire, placing those inside at significant risk.  Investigation also determined that Muco displayed a firearm and threatened people inside the establishment.

Following an extensive investigation by detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division, Muco was identified as the suspect.  On June 23, members of CID and the Crime Reduction Unit located and arrested him without incident.

Investigators also executed a search warrant at Muco’s residence, where they recovered additional evidence related to the investigation, including a firearm.  Muco has been charged with multiple crimes.
