Share

Starting tomorrow, Monday, July 21, Portland’s contractor, D&C Construction, will resume work on the Western Promenade Drainage Improvement Project along Vaughn and Danforth Streets and the Western Prom roadway.  Final construction activities will include the installation of manhole frames and covers, rain gardens, curbing, sidewalk ramps, final surface paving and landscape restoration.

Roadways within the work zone will remain open during this final phase of consruction.  However, intermittent lane reductions will be necessary.  Traffic may be temporarily reduced  to one lane with alternating flow controlled by flaggers to allow for safe completion of the work  The Vaughan/Danforth intersection will remain open throughout the project, though motorists should expect periodic lane closures and delays according to a press release issued by the City of Portland recently.

The City encourages drivers to avoid the work zone whenever possible by using alternate routes.  The final phase of work is expected to be completed by September 30, 2025.  For additional information and project updates, please visit the project website.
