West End Neighborhood Assocation’s “Vision Zero Traffic Calming” project funding has been approved according to a press release received this morning. WENA is about to begin scheduling volunteer duties. Please email WENA about your interest in participating in either: data collection or street painting, whether you prefer mornings to afternoons, or whether you can only do one day or ten. Please send your email of interest to: hello@wenamaine.org. You will receive a follow up email from the event volunteer coordinator(s) to discuss details.
Data collection may begin this week painting; may start the first week of June.
Volunteer activities will be similar to those we did last year. We will need more volunteers because we have expanded from five locations to ten locations, If you are interestded, there will be several types of activities of activities: data collection, street painting, crosswalk painting, traffic safety and traffic bollard placement.
These activities will take place between the end of May and the end of June. There will also be on-going bollard maintenance if you would like to be a traffic calming steward.
Last year we had a great turn-out for traffic calming and had a lot of fun working together on the street. We can find something for you to do!
