The city’s planning office has announced that a public, evening workshop will occur on Tuesday, May 11 at 7:30 pm at the city hall in room 209. The matter before the planning board is the “proposed text amendments and possible changes for the Waterfront Central Zone “WCZ,” according to a notice generated from the planning office.
The upcoming meeting will be the seventh meeting held by the planning board on the subject. Last fall, the WCZ text amendment and policy evaluation was initiated by an application composed of 12 pier and waterfront property owners represented by Charles Poole, Steve DiMillo and Richard Ingalls. Those meetings resulted in two public forums held this past March on the matter.
The future of the waterfront and any changes to its current use has always generated much discussion, if not passion! This is an opportunity to see just what the changes are and how they may or may not impact you – especially if you live on the Hill – and to address the planning board publicly on the issue.
