Waterville Man Arrested For Arson Today

On Thursday, April 10, around 2:30 am., Waterville Fire/Rescue were responding to a medical call when they observed a fire next to a dumpster and a building in the area of 44 College Avenue.  Waterville Police and Fire Departments responded and found Jason Woods, 47, of Waterville laying on the ground with debris on fire around him.  Waterville Police officers pulled the debris away to prevent Mr. Woods from burnng himself.  There was minor damage to the dumpster.

It was determined that the fire was intentionally set.  Mr. Woods was taken to the Kennebec County Jail and charged with Arson according to Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
