The Portland Police Department has ideniified he woman who died after being struck by a vehicle on August 24, 2026, in the area of 1837 Forest Avenue.  The victim has been identified as Nichele Roakes,, 57, of Portland.

The vehicle fled the scene following the crash.  Witnesses descsribed the vehicle as a dark-colored pickup truck that was last seen traveling inbound on Forest AVenue.  Members of the Portland Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene  and conducted a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The investigation remains active and no additional information is currently available.
