Thanksgiving Day Press Conference Names Two West Virginia Guard Members Seriously Injuried in Ambush in Washington, DC The Day Before Thanksgiving.
Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, and Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, members of the West Virginia National Guard, remain in critical condition in Washington, DC this moring said the controversial US Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro at a press conference held at 9:15 am on Thanksgiving Day morning. The no nonsense PIrro, who is having trouble indicting ham sandwiches, said their families are with them in DC area hospitals following surgeries yesterday.
They are both members of the West Virginia National Guard who were deployed to the area to help keep the peace in DC by the Trump administration. Trump’s knee jerk reaction yesterday was to deploy another 500 Guardsmen to the area – thus teeimg up more human targets for additional nefarious behavior by the unhinged. Trump did not explain how this additional, illegally activated, deployment would have prevented the tragedy that occurred yesterday afternoon around 2:15 pm.
The suspect, a 29 year old Afghan national, is in custody and under guard in a DC hospital as well because he was shot by fellow guardsmen following his shooting of Sarah and Andrew just several blocks from the White House in DC. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening as are the injuries of his two victims. The suspect is said to have worked with the CIA during the war in Afghanistan. Most recently he lived in Washington state and drove across the country to accomplish his assault on the Washington DC National Guard. He used a 357 Smith & Wesson revolver.
The suspect in the shooting, Rahmandullah Lakanwal, entered the US in 2021 under the Biden administration’s Operation Allies Welcome. It was a humanitarian parole program following the chaotic US exit from Afghanistan that was set up and agreed to by the first Trump administation. It was a program that provided entry into the US for those who assisted the US during that time. Significantly according to CNN Intelligence Analyst John Miller the suspect underwent a second, formal vetting process earlier this year. In fact, the suspect received asylum approval in April of 2025 – under the Trump administration. Trumpsters own his final approval lie about it or not.
FBI Director Kash Patel spoke – perhaps in an effort to save his job as rumors abound that his continued employment is at risk by Trump because of the bad pr surrounding his use of government planes to sheperd himself and his singer girlfriend to personal events. When he was asked this morning when the suspect received approval for asylum in the US, Patel refused to answer the question. Rather, he referred the reporter to the statement of DHS Secretary K. Noem referred to in the previous paragraph.
This Left Wing Lunatic is thankful for many reasons this Thanksgiving Day. One of them is the opportunity to vote Trumpsters out of office for their knee jerk decisions, incompetency and narrow minded thinking that have placed so many in this country at unnecessary risk to life and limb. Most importantly, this LWL is thankful that Sarah and Andrew continue their fight for their lives against Trump’s nefarious decisions.
