Investigators from the Fire Marhsall’s Office are at the scene of a home explosion on Lakeview Drive in Oakland it was reported just before 6:00 pm this evening.  Investigators say a middle- aged man was transported to Thayer Hospital before he was flown via Life Flight to Maine Medical Center in Portland.  The extent of his injuries is unknown.

There will be no additional information this evening.

The home was totally destroyed in the explosion.  Other homes on the street are without power at this time.
