Troy Jackson Calls for Town Hall Debates, Calls for Three Next Week

Troy Jackson, US Senate Candidate from Maine, Appeared on MSNOW Cable News on August 22, 2026.

One month after becoming the Democratic nominee for US Senate, Troy Jackson today called for Susan Collins to participate in four televisied debates, including two towh hall-style debates where Maine voters can directly question both candidates.

Jackson is also inviting Collins to join him at three public town halls in Maine next week — giving her an immediate opportnity to take questions directly from Mainers at what would be her first public town hall in twenty-five years.

Since becoming the nominee, Jackson has barnstormed the state, meeting with Mainers at community events and campaign stops from Lisbon Falls and Portland to Augusta, Winslow, Belfast, Brunswick and York with a series of public town halls beginning next week in Lewiston and Gorham.

Jackson said Mainers deserve the same opportunity to directly question both candidates for Senate.

“Susan Collins hasn’t held a public town hall in 25 years.  If she wants to debate, great — I’m looking forward to it,” said Jackson.  “But Mainers deserve more than politicans talking past each other in a televison studio.  They deserve the chance to look us both in the eye, ask us the questions that matter to their families and hear our answers directlly.  I”m holdng three town halls next week and Senator Colins is welcome at every one of them.  I’ll proudly defend my record on that stage and Susan Collins should be willng to do the same.”
