About 100 people attended the Third Annual Cider Press Party at Mt. Joy Orchard on Munjoy Hill this afternoon. The party at the ten year old orchard ran from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. The weather cooperated with the sun bursting out in the early afternoon bringing warm temperature and no winds to the top of Munjoy Hill.
The apples for this event came from Sweetser Apple Barrel, in Cumberland.. The apples used were exclusively Macs and Honey Crisps according to Aaron Parker, long-time lead organizer of the Mt Joy Orchard. No apples from the Mt. Joy. Orchard were used today because they have all been picked previously.
Attendees were treated to live music and a potluck lunch provided by many volunteers.of the non=profit. They were also encouraged to bring containers to take home quantities of the cider produced by the borrowed cider press.
