A ban on the use of synthetic pesticides in Portland was passed by the City Council on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 according to a press release issued by city spokeswoman Jessica Grondin.  The ban will apply to “most city and private properties” according to the press release.

The ordinance will go into effect for city properties in July of 2018 and for private properties in January of 2019.
