States’ Annual Hire-A-Vet Campaign on August 18 in Augusta

Maine’s annual Hire-A-Vet campaign is set for Thursday, August 18 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at the Augusta Civic Center, 76 Civic Center Drive, Augusta.

This is a statewide effort with the goal of at least 100 employers hiring at least 100 veterans and military family members during a 100 day period has returned according to a press release issued by the state’s Department of Labor.

The campaign is expecting to feature 200 hiring employers and resource providers in the kick-off event.  It is open to all job seekers, not just veterans.  This year’s campaign will feadture both in peron and virtual hiring events.

Governor Janet T. Mills and other guest speakers wikll take part in an opening ceremony prior to the hiring fair, beginning at 10:00 am.
